1930S Leedy Professional Model Snare Drum

Available for grabs is an extraordinarily rare 1930s Leedy Professional model snare in the elusive Rainbow Pearl. There are roughly less than 10 of these that have been accounted for and this one is completely original top to bottom, including tension rods to calf slunk heads. The Rainbow Pearl, also known as Peacock Pearl, was a common wrap used in the 20s and 30s in Ludwig production. Leedy advertised this option in a 1930s flyer and this finish option was available for a short period of time. This early wrap has a cheese cloth backing that can be seen through the translucent areas of the wrap. Every example of Leedy's version of this wrap has some degree of hazing / checking in the wrap. This particular drum does have this condition around the entire shell with some areas slightly lifting (please see photos). The drum is equipped with all original hardware including slotted tension rods, double flanged hoops, silk wire wound snares, speedway style strainer, and the original calf heads. Truly a unique piece.
