    Description

Fabulous Quality Carved Northwest Coast LARGE MASK.
The Cuts, Features, & Size make this
a STUNNING EXAMPLE OF CANADIAN FIRST NATIONS INDIGENOUS ART!
For sale is a large gallery quality Northwest coast cedar painted and carved mask.
This mask is called a Dzunukwa or Tsonoque (wild woman) mask and has a black face (in some pictures the sun makes it look
lighter) and large red lips in an 'O' shape as well as pierced eyes, nose mouth and voluminous horse hair.  In Northwest Coast mythology, the wild woman is physically strong enough to tear down
    trees,
    spiritually
powerful enough to resurrect the dead, and possesses magical treasure and great wealth.
It is signed "Andy TSU-ECH Wesley".  Andy was born in Prince Rupert in 1961 and is from the Gitksun cultural group. He has trained under Carl Simeon and Tony Gulbrandson.
    His specialty is masks carved
    in the Haida style.
    It is 18" H X 14" W X 9”
D and in very good condition
This impressive attractive mask would make a great addition to any art collection.
I have been selling AUTHENTIC Northwest Coast Masks since 1999 on eBay so buy with confidence.
